The Computer Literacy University and CLU staff shall be heretofore referred as the CLU.

Our Web site:  The theclu.org domain and hosted content is considered an “as-is” work with periodic updates.

Information Accuracy: The CLU will do its best to provide the most updated information on the state of technology and best practices. As technology is constantly changing, the CLU will not be held responsible for inaccurate or incorrect information.

Liability: The CLU will in good faith do its best to offer practical and effective advice for the diagnosis and solution of a given technology problem in a community forum. The CLU is not responsible for any damage to your computer either on a hardware or software basis. Be aware that certain repairs, including but not limited to virus and malware removal, may damage software and/or data. This may require the re-installation of your operating system, applications, and/or data.

Loss of Data: Due to the process of diagnosis or repair, data may get damaged or lost. The CLU is not responsible for the loss of any data that may occur while performing work on your computer. You are recommended to back up all important data prior to a CLU seminar.

Ownership: You must own the computer that you bring in for session(s). The CLU will not be responsible for any computers/ equipment on site. Any machines left at a seminar site will be considered abandoned and be disposed of accordingly.

Privacy: The CLU will not browse through your hard drive looking for data; however, they may inadvertently see data in the course of their work. All data seen is kept strictly confidential. Please remove any personal/private files you do not want others to see. By attending a CLU seminar and bringing your computer, you agree to allow your computer to be used as for demonstration purposes without additional compensation.

Scope of Work and Right to Refuse: The CLU will only perform specific diagnostics and work as described to the user. Any work deemed too complex, time consuming, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate will be refused.

Warranty: The CLU does not provide a warranty for any work done.
